Does theScore Bet Have a Public API?
No. PENN publishes no public API for theScore Bet, and you will find no developer portal or sign-up key. The same goes for ESPN BET, the brand that theScore Bet replaced in the US on December 1, 2025. If you came here for an ESPN BET API, the sportsbook lines you want now sit at theScore Bet. Developers get them from a theScore Bet odds API run by a third party, a feed that sets theScore Bet prices next to other books. Our sportsbook API guide describes those feeds and the books they cover.
The US Terms of Use grant a licence to use the service "for your personal, non-commercial use only" and say nothing about an API. We searched the theScore Bet help center for API, affiliate and developer articles and found none. Penn Sports Interactive, LLC, part of PENN Entertainment, runs theScore Bet in the US, and odds, bets and accounts stay inside its apps and website.
ESPN still shows odds, but they come from another book now. Since December 1, 2025, DraftKings has been ESPN's exclusive official sportsbook and odds provider, and ESPN BET lives on as a betting content brand with DraftKings built in. The odds on ESPN today are DraftKings odds. The old ESPN BET sportsbook lines are theScore Bet lines.
Three Ways to Get theScore Bet Odds
1. An odds API that carries theScore Bet
It is the simplest way to the old ESPN BET lines. One schema covers theScore Bet and the other books, delivered by REST or by a push feed, and the aggregator does the collecting. Sign-up takes minutes, and theScore Bet comes back in the same response as the other books on your plan. If an older integration of yours still calls the book ESPN BET, check how your feed names it now. To see what the free plans include, read our free odds API guide.
2. A licensed feed
PENN sells no theScore Bet odds feed that we could find, and the terms bar exploiting any part of the service for a commercial purpose. Broadcasters and sportsbooks can buy enterprise feeds of official data and odds from the leagues' official data partners. Only the partner's sales team can tell you if those feeds include theScore Bet prices, and that conversation brings legal review and a negotiated price. That suits an operator or a network. Route one fits a startup or a side project.
3. Scraping
Scraping theScore Bet is a bad idea. A JavaScript challenge page answered our plain scripted request. Betting needs an account, an age of 21 in the US and a location inside a licensed state. Section 5(h) of the US terms bans "spiders, crawlers, robots, bots, artificial intelligence, or any other similar means" to access the service, and PENN can void bets it suspects were placed by automated means. Run a scraper anyway and you put the account and your business at risk to save a subscription fee.
Whatever name a feed uses for the book, the table below collects each odds API in our directory that carries theScore Bet, with the source and date of each claim.
Odds APIs That Carry theScore Bet
A verified row comes from our own API check, so it shows the leagues and the market families where we saw theScore Bet prices. A row from docs rests on the book list that the provider publishes. That list names theScore Bet but not the leagues or the markets, so the row has no per-league data. Live odds, free tier and price come from our directory research, never from the probe. Some provider links are affiliate links.

What theScore Bet Odds API Data You Can Get
In that table, a verified row is one our probe checked, and it shows the leagues and market families where theScore Bet prices appeared. A docs row tells you only that the provider includes theScore Bet in its book list. theScore Bet prices turned up in our probe for the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, plus college football and soccer leagues such as the Premier League and MLS. After the rebrand, reports said that theScore Bet kept all the college football markets ESPN BET had offered.
Player props and period markets both appear in the verified rows. The book's Same Game Parlay feature combines game lines and player props from one game, and it can mix several games, for the NHL, NFL, NBA and MLB. In Ontario the feature launched as Parlay+. The player props API guide covers how feeds structure prop markets. Check SGP coverage with your provider before you build on it.
Live odds sit next to live video here. theScore Bet streams more than 150,000 live sporting events to logged-in, funded players in permitted regions. In the table, live odds per provider follow that provider's docs; read our live sports odds API guide before you build on in-play prices.
From Barstool to ESPN BET to theScore Bet
PENN has run its US sportsbook under three names since 2020. It started as Barstool Sportsbook. PENN signed its ESPN deal on August 8, 2023, and on November 14, 2023 ESPN BET replaced Barstool Sportsbook in 17 states.
theScore Bet is the older brand of the three. Score Media and Gaming launched it in New Jersey in September 2019, and Penn National Gaming agreed to buy that company in August 2021 for about $2 billion. theScore Bet launched in Ontario on April 4, 2022. In July 2022 the Ontario book moved onto PENN's in-house technology stack, built by theScore, which covers risk and trading, player accounts and promotions. PENN planned to move its US sportsbook onto the same stack in 2023.
The ESPN deal ended early. On November 6, 2025 PENN and ESPN announced the split, and ESPN named DraftKings its sportsbook partner the same day. On December 1, 2025 ESPN BET became theScore Bet. Accounts, balances and open bets moved over without any action from bettors, and Missouri launched the same day, for 21 US jurisdictions in all, per PENN. In July 2026 theScore Bet added Alberta to Ontario in Canada.
The ESPN BET lines and the theScore Bet lines come from the same operator. If you store historical odds, join the old ESPN BET series and the new theScore Bet series under one book, and mark December 1, 2025 as the switch date so a backtest can split them if it needs to.
Use Cases for theScore Bet Odds API Data
Line shopping. List theScore Bet beside FanDuel, BetMGM and DraftKings, and a user can pick the best of the four prices at a glance. The Coverage Map for theScore Bet narrows the feeds to those with your full book list.
Apps for US and Canadian users. theScore Bet runs in Ontario and Alberta as well as in US states. If you serve Canadian users, ask your provider which region its theScore Bet prices come from.
Value against sharp books. Use a sharp market such as Pinnacle as the benchmark for theScore Bet prices. Where theScore Bet beats the sharp book's fair price, the user is looking at a positive expected value bet.
Props and closing line value. Feed theScore Bet player props into a prop screener, and store each closing price so a user can compare it with the price they took.
Before You Build
Your app shows odds, and theScore Bet takes the bets. You hold a provider's licence for the data, and the wager happens in theScore Bet's own app, where it holds a licence of its own. Check three things before launch.
First, read your provider's terms on display. Some plans are for internal use only, and a public app has to be on a plan with redistribution rights. Second, mind the ages and the map: US users must be 21 or older, Ontario users 19 and Alberta users 18, and each must be inside a licensed area. Third, retire the ESPN BET label in your app. A "bet at ESPN BET" button now points at a content brand that takes no bets. This is not legal advice.
