BetMGM Odds API: How to Get BetMGM Lines Into Your App

Not one you can sign up for. BetMGM publishes docs for a partner API, the BetMGM Sports API, at sportsapi.pa.betmgm.com. They address business partners and interested website owners, and every page says BetMGM must register and approve you first.

The docs describe a REST API of GET methods, version V2, for sports, competitions, fixtures with their markets, options and prices, a fixture index without prices, scoreboards and supported languages. The swagger page adds an endpoint for pre-created build bets, BetMGM's same game parlays, and lists refresh intervals of 2 seconds for fixtures, the fixture index and scoreboards and 1 second for sports and competitions. You select data by two-letter country code, not by US state.

Access is a company process. You email support@entainpartners.com with official company or organisation information, discuss your needs, and sign an official application form. When BetMGM's Legal department accepts it, BetMGM sends an Access ID and a Token, and the docs tie the process to sports betting regulation. We found no price, fee schedule, terms of use or data redistribution rule there, and the imprint bars copying the site's information without written permission.

Without that deal, use an aggregator. A BetMGM odds API from a third party collects BetMGM prices and serves them next to other books, and our sportsbook API guide compares a book's own API with those feeds.

BetMGM also licenses its odds to media companies by contract. In May 2024 the Associated Press made BetMGM its official sports odds provider, taking over from FanDuel, and AP runs BetMGM odds and lines across its formats. In September 2024 Gannett made BetMGM the official online sportsbook operator of USA TODAY Sports, with its data and odds across more than 300 news sites. In February 2024 BetMGM became the exclusive live odds partner of X.

BetMGM Partners, the affiliate program, offers commissions and reporting and says nothing about an odds feed or a widget. With no prediction market, BetMGM has no exchange API either.

1. An odds API that carries BetMGM

Most builders should start here. The provider deals with BetMGM's bot protection and its state-by-state sites, then returns BetMGM prices beside the other books in one schema, over REST or a push feed. You get a key the same day. 2. A licensed feed

BetMGM's partner API belongs here, beside the deals that gave the AP, USA TODAY and X their BetMGM odds and the enterprise feeds that the leagues' official data partners license to broadcasters and operators. Each path means an application or sales calls, then legal review and a contract, and the partner API docs show no price. For an app or a model, route one gets you the same BetMGM lines without the paperwork.

3. Scraping

Scraping BetMGM is a bad idea. Buy the feed. The sports site sits behind Cloudflare bot protection and refused our plain scripted request, and a scraper would have to cover each of BetMGM's separate state sites. The New Jersey terms limit the service to "personal, entertainment use", ban any commercial use, ban copying or exploiting "any portion of the Platforms" and forbid betting by bot. A scraper behind a commercial product breaks those terms and could cost you your account.

Every feed in our directory that carries BetMGM has a row in the table below, and each row gives the source and the date of its claim.

Each row in that table has one of two labels. "Verified" means our probe saw BetMGM prices at the provider, and the row names the leagues and market families: moneylines, spreads and totals for the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL, plus college football, soccer and more. "From docs" means the provider lists BetMGM in its documentation, with no per-league detail.

Account features stay in the app. BetMGM's Edit My Bet lets a customer raise the stake or swap a team in an NFL parlay after inactives come out. It also offers Cash Out and runs early payout specials, such as a soccer bet that pays when the team goes two goals up. Those features live in the bettor's account, so build around the prices a feed carries.

BetMGM quotes American odds in the US, so convert any decimal prices your feed returns.

BetMGM odds reach readers who never open a betting app: the AP prints them in its odds coverage, USA TODAY runs them across its local news sites, and X shows BetMGM live odds. A reader who sees a line in an AP story sees a BetMGM line and will check your screen against it.

The pricing comes from its own house. BetMGM is a 50/50 joint venture of MGM Resorts International and Entain, and Entain provides the technology that powers it. Entain prices markets on its own in-house trading platform, and in 2023 it bought a sports modelling and pricing firm. So BetMGM prices come from a different source than US books that trade in-house or buy from another supplier, and each gap between separately priced books is a better price for one of your users.

BetMGM also covers a wide map: mobile or retail betting in 27 states plus Washington, D.C., and Ontario and Alberta in Canada. A user in any of those markets can bet the BetMGM line you show.

Line shopping. Show BetMGM next to FanDuel, DraftKings and Caesars so a user finds the best price at once. To find a feed that pairs BetMGM with the rest of your book list, filter the Coverage Map for BetMGM.

Arbitrage and value against sharp books. Set BetMGM prices against a sharp market such as Pinnacle. A BetMGM price above the sharp book's fair price is a bet with positive expected value. Where Entain's numbers and a rival's disagree far enough, a bettor can back both sides and lock in a profit.

Props tools. Pull BetMGM player props into a screener next to the other US books. Where BetMGM's line sits apart from the rest, your users get a reason to look closer.

Closing line value. Log BetMGM's closing number in each market and line it up against the price each user got. Over a season, beating the close says more about skill than the win-loss record does. Feed types keep different amounts of history, and our historical odds guide covers the differences.

A provider licenses the BetMGM prices your app displays, and BetMGM takes the wager in its own app. Check two things before launch.

First, check that your provider's plan allows public display, because some plans are for internal use only. Second, mind the map. BetMGM takes bets only where it holds a licence, and its state page lists mobile and retail markets together, so check that a user's state has mobile betting before you show a "bet at BetMGM" button.
