Key Findings
Many odds API pricing pages promise "all the major books". We counted what you get. We took one snapshot of the SportsAPIs.dev Coverage Map on 1 November 2026, and five findings stand out.
- Full US coverage is rare. Only 6 of 45 odds APIs list all 8 big US sportsbooks: FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, Fanatics, BetRivers, Hard Rock Bet and theScore Bet. Even among the 27 APIs that cover 3 or more books, that is fewer than one in four.
- Kalshi is now as common as DraftKings. 23 APIs list each one, more than any other book. Our probes returned Kalshi from 6 APIs and DraftKings from 5.
- Prediction markets are mainstream. 25 APIs list at least one prediction market or betting exchange. The same number, 25, list at least one of the big 8 US books.
- FanDuel comes with DraftKings. Every API that lists FanDuel also lists DraftKings. Three APIs list DraftKings without FanDuel.
- Most books sit in the middle. Only 5 books appear on 20 or more APIs. 90 of the 135 books appear on 3 to 9 APIs, and 12 appear on 2 or fewer.
If your app needs all 8 big US books, you have 6 APIs to choose from before you look at a single price. Check the book list first, then compare plans.
How We Counted
The Coverage Map tracks 45 odds APIs and 135 active books. A "book" here means a sportsbook, a betting exchange, a prediction market or a daily fantasy (DFS) app. Each count in this report uses one of two levels of proof:
- Listed: the API names the book in its documentation, or returned it to our probe. For 35 APIs, the source is the provider's docs, checked on 28 October 2026.
- Verified: our own probe, run with our own API key, returned odds from that book. We probe 10 APIs every 3 days. This report uses the probe of 1 November 2026.
Read the numbers with three limits in mind:
- A probe shows what one plan returned on one day. A higher plan can carry more books.
- If a provider's docs do not name a book, we count it as "not listed", not as "no". Some docs are incomplete.
- Some APIs on the list carry one book by design, such as a feed for one sharp book or for one operator's own odds. They lower the averages, which is why we also give counts for the 27 APIs that cover 3 or more books.
We will not change the numbers on this page, so a quote from it stays true. For today's numbers, use the Coverage Map.
The Big US Sportsbooks
DraftKings leads the US books, and FanDuel and BetMGM follow close behind. Caesars, Fanatics and Hard Rock Bet trail by 7 APIs. If your users are in a Hard Rock state such as Florida, that gap matters.
| Sportsbook | APIs that list it (of 45) | Verified by our probes (of 10) |
|---|---|---|
| DraftKings | 23 | 5 |
| FanDuel | 20 | 4 |
| BetMGM | 20 | 5 |
| BetRivers | 19 | 4 |
| theScore Bet | 18 | 5 |
| Caesars | 16 | 4 |
| Fanatics | 16 | 4 |
| Hard Rock Bet | 16 | 4 |
All 8 books on one API is the hard part. 25 APIs list at least one of them, but only 6 list all 8. If you build a line shopping tool for US bettors, start with those 6 and test your exact leagues and markets in the Coverage Map.
Prediction Markets and Exchanges
Kalshi ties DraftKings as the most listed book. Novig, a US sports exchange, is on 18 APIs, two more than Caesars. Our probes returned Polymarket International from 4 APIs, which is every API that lists it.
| Venue | Type | APIs that list it (of 45) | Verified by our probes (of 10) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kalshi | Prediction market | 23 | 6 |
| Novig | Exchange | 18 | 4 |
| ProphetX | Exchange | 16 | 4 |
| Betfair Exchange | Exchange | 12 | 2 |
| Matchbook | Exchange | 9 | 1 |
| Polymarket US | Prediction market | 8 | 4 |
| SX Bet | Exchange | 6 | 1 |
| ReBet | Exchange | 6 | 0 |
| Smarkets | Exchange | 5 | 0 |
| Polymarket International | Prediction market | 4 | 4 |
| 4casters | Exchange | 4 | 2 |
| Fanatics Markets | Prediction market | 4 | 1 |
Exchange prices matter for models because they carry less built-in margin than sportsbook lines. If you devig sportsbook lines against an exchange, check that one API carries both sides. If you compare two feeds with different timestamps, you add error that is easy to miss.
Offshore and Sharp Books
Offshore books are as easy to find as the US majors. Bovada matches FanDuel at 20 APIs, and BetOnline sits at 18. The sharp books are close behind.
| Sportsbook | Group | APIs that list it (of 45) | Verified by our probes (of 10) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bovada | US-facing offshore | 20 | 5 |
| bet365 | Global | 19 | 6 |
| BetOnline | US-facing offshore | 18 | 4 |
| Pinnacle | Global | 18 | 5 |
| Circa | US | 14 | 4 |
| BookMaker | US-facing offshore | 12 | 4 |
Pinnacle is the usual reference line for sharp bettors. 14 of the 18 APIs that list Pinnacle also list at least one big US book, so you can compare a sharp price with a retail price in one call. The other 4 carry Pinnacle without a big US book. They are useful when you only need the sharp line.
The Long Tail and Market Depth
The 135 books spread out like this:
| Number of APIs that list a book | Books |
|---|---|
| 20 or more | 5 |
| 10 to 19 | 28 |
| 3 to 9 | 90 |
| 2 or fewer | 12 |
The broadest API lists 89 of the 135 books. The narrowest carry one. In our probes, the API with the most books did not return the most markets. One API with about a fifth as many books returned twice as many. If your product lives on player props, a deep API with fewer books can beat a wide one.
For the 12 books that 2 or fewer APIs list, you have little choice. Find them in the Coverage Map before you design around them.
How to Check Your Own Case
- Write down the books, leagues and markets that your product cannot ship without.
- Select them in the Coverage Map. It ranks every API by how much of your list it matches, and it shows the source and date of each match.
- Prefer a "Verified" match over a "From docs" match when the two are close.
- Read the sportsbook page for your most important book, such as FanDuel or DraftKings, then the full review of each API on your shortlist.
- Test with a free tier or trial before you pay. The free odds API guide lists the options.
