What EndzoneAPI Is

EndzoneAPI is a football data API run by OWSH Unlimited LLC. It covers the NFL back to 1999, plus FBS and FCS college football, and it sells football only. You send a POST to https://mcp.endzoneapi.com/v1/{tool} with a JSON body and an API key, or you point Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor at the same 23 tools over MCP.

The pitch is depth per game: every game carries a closing spread and total, with the plays, stat lines and per-book prices underneath. For live scoring or a push feed, pair it with a live data source.

Coverage and Data Types

The site counts more than 7,500 NFL games, 1.2 million plays and 470,000 weekly player stat lines (checked November 2026). Here is what the docs list:

  • Games and schedules since 1999: scores, kickoff in UTC, venue, weather, starting quarterbacks, referee and closing lines.
  • Play-by-play since 1999: 160 columns per play, including EPA, win probability and CPOE.
  • Weekly player stats since 1999: 150 columns per player-week, from passing to kicking and fantasy points.
  • Injuries since 2009, depth charts since 2001, snap counts since 2013, and Next Gen Stats since 2016.

College football comes on the same key and credits: league set to ncaaf or fcs, with play-by-play, standings and sportsbook lines. The docs say stats and play-by-play refresh once a day at 10:00 UTC, so this is a research feed, not a scoreboard. The docs do not describe a roster endpoint, though search_players and depth charts cover most lookups.

Sportsbook Lines and Player Props

The odds layer is a history product. Per-book closing lines start with the 2014 season, opening lines with 2020, and since 2026 each book is captured every hour. The docs name DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, ESPN BET and Pinnacle, with three more books. Player props start in 2023, from 7 sportsbooks according to the site's dataset page, with opening and closing lines for yards, receptions, touchdowns and more.

Three endpoints stand out. get_prop_history lines up a player's prop against the result, game by game. get_prop_movement shows each capture of a line before kickoff. get_alt_player_props returns the full ladder a book posted. All three cost 10 credits a call.

The docs say that odds and props are pre-game only, and that anything captured at or after kickoff is dropped. That makes EndzoneAPI a good fit for historical odds and player props research. For in-play prices, add a live odds provider from the coverage map.

EndzoneAPI Pricing and Credits

EndzoneAPI has a real free plan: 500 credits a month, no card (checked November 2026). Calls cost 1 to 25 credits. list_teams costs 1, get_standings 2, get_games and get_player_stats 5, get_plays and get_player_props 10, and the time-series get_line_movement 25.

Paid plans are Starter at $19 a month for 10,000 credits, Pro at $49 for 30,000 and Scale at $149 for 125,000. You can also top up a wallet from $5 to $500 at 400 credits per dollar, and those credits do not expire while the account is open. The pricing page shows what real jobs cost: a full 2025 season of play-by-play is 49 calls and 490 credits, which fits the free plan, and a season of player props is 5,700 credits, which fits Starter.

The terms allow you to store the data, train models on it and build commercial products that show what you derive. You may not pass it on as a feed, dataset or API of its own.

Getting an API Key

You sign up on the EndzoneAPI sign-up page. The free plan gives you 500 credits every month, and the site asks for no card (checked November 2026). You verify your email, then create a key from the dashboard. The terms say that the site tops a free account back up to 500 within about 3 days after each monthly anniversary of the signup, but only when the balance is below 500.

Send the key in an x-api-key header, or as Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY. The MCP server also takes ?key= on its URL, and Claude and ChatGPT can connect with a sign-in instead of a key. Paid plans start at $19 a month for 10,000 credits.

A First Request in Python

This sample calls list_teams, the cheapest endpoint at 1 credit, with POST https://mcp.endzoneapi.com/v1/list_teams (from the docs, checked November 2026).

import os

import requests

resp = requests.post(
    "https://mcp.endzoneapi.com/v1/list_teams",
    headers={"x-api-key": os.environ["ENDZONEAPI_API_KEY"]},
    json={"division": "AFC West"},
    timeout=10,
)
resp.raise_for_status()

data = resp.json()["data"]
print(data["count"], "teams")
for team in data["teams"]:
    print(team["abbrev"], team["name"], team["conference"])

The docs say every REST response wraps its result in a data key. Inside it you get a teams array, where each team has an abbrev, a name, a conference and a division, plus a count. Filter with conference or division. The project also publishes a Python client on PyPI, installed with pip install endzoneapi.

Rate Limits, Docs and SDKs

The rate limit follows your credit balance, not your plan. With 100 credits or more you get 60 requests a minute. Under 100 credits you get 10 a minute (checked November 2026). The docs call this burst protection. A 429 means wait and retry, a 402 means you are out of credits, and a 500 refunds the credits. Pass x-idempotency-key to make a retry safe.

Credits are the real meter, from 1 to 25 per call. The docs give every endpoint a live example. The site also publishes an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, an llms.txt, a data changelog and a status page with uptime probed every five minutes. The Python client is endzoneapi on PyPI. Support is support@endzoneapi.com, with priority support on Pro and dedicated support on Scale.

Who EndzoneAPI Is For

It suits bettors and modellers who need closing lines and prop history next to EPA and win probability. It suits analysts who want play-by-play over HTTP instead of loading files, and fantasy and app builders who want snap shares, depth charts and injury status behind one key.

The 500-credit free plan is enough to prototype. If you need live scores, in-play odds or a WebSocket, pair it with a live provider and use EndzoneAPI for the history and the model inputs. Browse more options in the sports data API directory.

Verdict

EndzoneAPI does one sport and goes deep on it. The data goes back to 1999, the prop and line history is deep for a plan that starts at $19, and the docs, OpenAPI spec, changelog and public status page make it easy to check before you build. Credits are easy to budget, and the free plan is real. Try the free key at endzoneapi.com, run one call, and look at the rows before you decide.

Yes. It serves FBS and FCS college football on the same key and credits. Pass league set to ncaaf or fcs to any tool that lists it, or connect to the separate MCP endpoints. The site lists play-by-play, standings and sportsbook lines for both, each back to 2004.
