matchwire API Review 2026

matchwire is a mapping API for sports prediction markets. It pairs each game across Kalshi, Polymarket and Predict.fun, keeps every venue's own market IDs, and hands you the exact call that reads each price from the venue. We tested it on a Starter key.

What matchwire Is

matchwire is a mapping API for sports prediction markets. Kalshi, Polymarket US, Polymarket International and Predict.fun all list the same games, but each venue writes its own title and assigns its own market ID. matchwire pairs those listings and returns one row per game, with every venue's market IDs attached.

It doesn't sell prices. Each listing carries the exact request that reads that market from the venue, so your prices come straight from the source. matchwire owns the fragile part: the alias lists behind each game and the line matching across venues. If you've tried to match Kalshi and Polymarket titles yourself, you've seen how fast a renamed team or a moved start time breaks the script.

Venues, Sports and Matched Markets

Four venues sit behind every row: Kalshi, Polymarket US, Polymarket International and Predict.fun. The sport list runs wide. On the day we checked, the service tracked soccer, tennis, table tennis, basketball, NFL, college football, NHL, baseball, cricket, darts, volleyball, handball, rugby, AFL, UFC and boxing. The esports group goes deep too: CS2, League of Legends, Dota 2, Valorant, Rainbow Six, Overwatch, Mobile Legends and Honor of Kings.

Matching goes past the match winner. Spreads and handicaps, totals, map winners, correct scores and event props all get paired, and the line is part of the match, so an over 45.5 on one venue never sits next to an over 48.5 on another. Each listing reports a match tier and a confidence score from 0 to 1. When matchwire isn't sure two markets are the same, it holds the pair back for human review instead of serving a guess.

Rows also carry a notes field that flags rule differences between venues, which you'll want before you treat two markets as interchangeable.

REST, Deltas and the SSE Stream

The REST API lives at https://api.matchwire.win, with an x-api-key header on every call. /api/v1/rows returns every game your plan covers, and filters for sport, venue, market type, league and status narrow it down. Each response carries a sequence number. Pass it back as ?since= and you get only the games that changed, plus tombstones for games to drop.

For push, /api/v1/push streams the same updates over Server-Sent Events. It opens with a full snapshot, then sends changes as they land. The stream has no rate limit. REST allows 60 requests a minute per key, which is plenty once you poll deltas instead of the full set.

/api/v1/status reports health per venue, and /api/v1/report lets you flag a missed or wrong match. A person reads every report. The docs are short and opinionated: key your data on matchwire's row ID, keep the venue IDs beside it, and never match titles yourself. An llms.txt file gives a coding agent the whole integration on one page.

The Official MCP Server

An official MCP server runs at https://api.matchwire.win/mcp over streamable HTTP, with the same API key. Six tools cover the service: list_sports, find_rows, get_row, get_venue_market, service_status and report_issue.

An agent can find a game, read its venue market IDs and get the ready-made request for each venue with no glue code in between. Our sports MCP server list shows how it compares with the other official servers in the directory.

matchwire Pricing and Plans

Four plans, and every one includes the real-time stream:

  • Starter, $99/mo: pick two venues and one sport. It's the only plan with a free trial: 14 days, card on file, no charge if you cancel before day 14.
  • Growth, $189/mo: three venues and two sports.
  • Pro, $289/mo: all four venues and every sport, new ones included, plus priority support.
  • Commercial license, custom: for companies, funds and resale.

Read the license line before you pick. Starter, Growth and Pro are personal plans, for individuals who trade their own account in their own name. If you're building a product for other people or running money for a fund, you need the commercial license, and that starts with an email to the sales team. You can pay in crypto, but that skips the trial and bills right away.

What We Saw on a Trial Key

We tested on a Starter trial key in October 2026, scoped to esports on Kalshi and Polymarket US. The full pull came back in under half a second with more than 250 CS2, League of Legends, Rainbow Six, Dota 2, Overwatch and Valorant games, live and upcoming. Nine in ten carried listings from both venues, and the matched markets went well past match winners into map winners, handicaps and totals.

The venue requests worked as described. Kalshi and Polymarket US answered the ones we tried with the live market, price included, and neither asked for a key. The delta call returned only changed games plus tombstones, the SSE stream opened with a full snapshot, and the MCP server listed its six tools. When we asked for NFL on the esports-only key, the API returned a clear 403 that named the sports our plan allows.

What It Does Not Cover

matchwire is a mapping layer and says so on every page. It returns no prices and no order books, so your app still calls each venue for those. The request it hands you makes that call, but the venue's rate limits apply, and Predict.fun needs your own key.

Sportsbook odds aren't part of it either. If you want DraftKings or Pinnacle lines beside the prediction market prices, pair matchwire with an odds API from the directory. Our betting exchange API guide covers the Kalshi and Polymarket APIs themselves.

Our key covered esports on two venues, so we haven't tested Polymarket International, Predict.fun or the traditional sports ourselves. The service's status feed showed all four venues healthy, and its sports list put soccer, college football and NFL among the busiest.

Who matchwire Is For

  • Cross-venue traders who watch the same game on Kalshi and Polymarket and want to spot price gaps without running a matching job.
  • Prediction market dashboards and screeners that show one game with every venue's price beside it.
  • Bots that run all day on the Pro plan, across all four venues and every sport.
  • AI agents that research or trade prediction markets through MCP.

If you're building for other people, budget for the commercial license from the start. The personal plans are for your own account.

Verdict

If you've matched prediction market games by hand, you know the job doesn't end. Titles change, start times move, and every new venue brings a new naming scheme. matchwire takes that job off your plate, matches the line along with the game, and hands back the exact venue call for each price. In our esports test the pairing held up across Kalshi and Polymarket US, and the MCP server makes it usable from an agent on day one.

Start with the 14-day Starter trial on the two venues you trade most. For a product or a fund, ask about the commercial license first.

Our Take

What stood out when we vetted matchwire for the directory:

  • One row per game across Kalshi, Polymarket US, Polymarket International and Predict.fun, with each venue's own market IDs kept intact
  • Spreads, totals, map winners and props match with the line included, and every listing carries the exact venue request that fetches its price
  • REST with delta polling, an unmetered SSE push stream, and an official MCP server

Tested on a Starter key in October 2026: most live and upcoming esports matches came back paired across Kalshi and Polymarket US, and every venue link we tried returned the live market. It replaces the title-matching job you would otherwise build and maintain yourself.
