ArbPlay API Review 2026
A developer-to-developer look at the ArbPlay Odds API, which serves the live and pre-match odds of seven Greek bookmakers as each book publishes them, with no normalization layer in between.

What ArbPlay API Is
The ArbPlay API is an odds feed for the Greek betting market. It serves live and pre-match odds from Stoiximan, Novibet, Fonbet, Superbet, Elabet, OPAP (Allwyn) and Bwin. Each file is the bookmaker's own JSON, passed through unchanged.
It comes from the team behind the ArbPlay arbitrage app, a sure-bet scanner for Greek bettors. The odds API at api.arbplay.app is a separate product, and the docs say so plainly: the app's own endpoints are not part of it.
Most odds APIs in our directory lead with US books or with sharp books such as Pinnacle. Greek retail books rarely show up in those feeds, so a dedicated source fills a real gap if Greece is your market. We tested it in October 2026 on a direct key that covered all seven books.
Bookmakers and Coverage
Coverage depends on the book. Stoiximan and Novibet have one live file with every in-play sport, plus pre-match files for soccer, basketball and tennis. Fonbet puts every sport, live and pre-match, in one file. Superbet, Elabet, OPAP and Bwin have separate live and pre-match files for soccer, basketball and tennis. That's 34 files in all.
Here's what came back when we pulled all 34 files on October 6, 2026:
- Superbet is the deepest book in the feed. Its pre-match soccer file held 1,220 matches with a median of 89 markets and about 650 prices per match. The biggest match carried 451 markets.
- OPAP listed 1,620 pre-match soccer matches and Bwin 487, both with the main lines only: a median of 3 markets per match at OPAP and 13 at Bwin.
- Novibet listed 1,055 pre-match soccer matches with a median of 6 markets each, and its live file had 147 in-play events across 13 sports, including League of Legends, CS2 and Dota 2.
- Elabet listed 1,352 pre-match soccer matches, again mostly main lines.
- Stoiximan's live file had 164 in-play events across ten sports, including volleyball, ice hockey, table tennis and esports (ESL Pro League and LoL's EMEA Masters).
- Fonbet's single file carried over 11,000 events, from the NBA to CS2 and EA FC esports leagues.
Bwin, OPAP and Fonbet already had NBA games up for the new season. So the right book depends on the job: Superbet for depth, OPAP and Elabet for breadth, Stoiximan and Novibet for in-play variety.
How the API Works
The API is small. It has two read-only endpoints at https://api.arbplay.app:
GET /v1/fileslists the files your key can read.GET /v1/data/{filename}returns one file inside an envelope with four keys:company,file,updated_atanddata.
The data is fresh. Across all 34 files, the newest write was between 0 and 16 seconds old when the response arrived. We polled a live Bwin soccer file every five seconds for a minute, and it had changed on every single poll.
There's no WebSocket, so you poll. Send the last Last-Modified value back as If-Modified-Since and you get an empty 304 Not Modified until the file changes. We confirmed it. Rate limits count per file, so you can poll every file in parallel. Our direct test key allowed 15 requests a minute per file, about one every four seconds, and request 16 got a 429 with a Retry-After header. ArbPlay sets each direct key's limit by plan, so ask what yours will be. Marketplace keys follow the plan on that marketplace.
Ask for gzip, because some files are big. Superbet's pre-match soccer file was 413 MB of JSON when we pulled it, 65 MB compressed, and took about seven seconds to download. Most live files are under 1 MB. The API sends no CORS headers, so call it from a server, not a browser.
The docs are tidy. Every error code has a cause and a fix in one table, and there's an OpenAPI 3.1 spec, a Postman collection and an llms.txt for AI assistants.
Raw Bookmaker JSON and Event Matching
This is the design choice that decides whether the feed fits you. The API does not normalize anything. A Stoiximan file is a set of linked lookup tables, Superbet sends a flat list of events with nested markets, and OPAP wraps everything in a GraphQL-style envelope. You write and maintain one parser per bookmaker.
The upside is that you lose nothing: every market and field the bookmaker publishes reaches you, including live scores, corners and cards where the book shows them. ArbPlay also eases the parser work. Each bookmaker page carries a field map, a real trimmed sample and a tested Python function that pulls match result odds.
To line up the same match across books, join on the Betradar (Sportradar) match ID. In our pull, five of the seven books carried it: Stoiximan, Novibet, Superbet, OPAP and Bwin. For example, 1,195 of 1,220 Superbet matches and 1,019 of 1,055 Novibet matches had one. For Elabet and Fonbet you fall back to team names plus start time.
If you want one schema across many books, a normalized aggregator from the directory saves that work. Our sports odds API guide explains the trade-off.
ArbPlay API Pricing and the Free Tier
The API is sold through three marketplaces: RapidAPI, Zyla API Hub and JoJ API. Each bookmaker is its own listing, and a marketplace key reads only that bookmaker's files. For a direct key to api.arbplay.app, or for several books on one deal, you contact ArbPlay. The key we tested was a direct one.
On RapidAPI in October 2026, each listing had a free Basic plan with 200 requests a month. Paid plans ran from $29 to $249 a month on the Bwin and OPAP listings, and from $49 to $399 on Stoiximan. JoJ API bills per call instead, at $0.01.
Budget for the per-bookmaker model. One book at the PRO tier is cheap. All seven books at high volume adds up fast, and that's where a direct deal probably makes sense. The free plan is enough to check a file's structure, not to run anything live, since a live file changes every few seconds.
Don't mix this up with the ArbPlay app's subscription. The weekly and monthly passes on the main site buy the arbitrage scanner, not API access.
What It Does Not Cover
The scope is deliberately narrow. A few things sit outside it:
- A shared schema. Every book has its own format, as covered above.
- Books outside Greece. There's no bet365 and no Pinnacle. Pair it with a multi-book feed if you need sharp lines to price against.
- Historical odds. Each file is the current state only. To build history, store snapshots yourself or see our historical odds guide.
- Push updates. Polling only. For streaming feeds, see our live odds API guide.
- Results, settlement and bet slip links. None of these are offered.
- Sports beyond the big three at four of the seven books. Superbet, Elabet, OPAP and Bwin files cover soccer, basketball and tennis only.
- Every live tick. At the 15 requests a minute per file on our test key, you see a live file about every four seconds. That's fine for scanning, but you'll miss some in-play price moves.
Who ArbPlay API Is For
The ArbPlay API suits developers building for Greek bettors or studying the Greek market. Three groups get the most from it:
- Arbitrage and value tool builders who want the exact prices Greek books show, refreshed every few seconds in play.
- Odds comparison sites for Greece that need Stoiximan, Novibet and OPAP side by side, which most global aggregators skip.
- Analysts who want the full market list of one book, untouched, and are happy to write the parser.
If you want many books in one schema with minimal setup, look elsewhere in the directory.
Verdict
This is a focused feed for a market most odds APIs ignore, and it held up in our test. Every file was seconds old, the live files changed on every poll, and Superbet's pre-match board went hundreds of markets deep. If Greece is where your users bet, it's a credible source.
The cost is integration work. Raw JSON means a parser per book, two books lack a shared match ID, the biggest file runs to hundreds of megabytes, and the price scales with each book you add. Grab the free Basic plan for the one book you care about most and parse a live file before you commit.
Frequently Asked Questions
If-Modified-Since returns a 304 until a file changes. Compare live odds APIsRetry-After above that, and ArbPlay sets each direct key's limit by plan. A 304 still counts toward the limit.ArbPlay API Alternatives
